<font size="2" face="Verdana" color="#000000">Welcome to the new edition of the Carnival of German-American Relations. <br />GM's Corner and the Too Much Cookies Network<i> </i>are presenting the twenty
submissions ranging from three different takes on the German economy, to the future
of NATO and to Merkel's foreign policy. They also include a brief bio
of a fearless US correspondent, who informed Americans about Nazi
Germany. A German blogger writes about his father, who probably owes
his life to a Jewish US soldier, and adds his own thoughts about
America. US military recruiting slogans are analyzed as well as the
so-called Islamist threat to European societies.  <br /><br />Please visit the blogs by the two hosts for their excellent carnival posts.<font size="2" face="Verdana" color="#000000"> Omar

Jeder Blogger kann seine besten Artikel zu diesem Thema einreichen. Der Gastgeber des Karnevals wählt die besten der eingereichten Beiträge aus und stellt sie am Tag des Karnevals in seinem Blog gebündelt vor. Außerdem bemüht sich der Gastgeber darum, dass möglichst viele Blogs zu seinem Karnevalsartikel verlinken. Alle teilnehmenden Blogs bekommen so viele neue Leser. Und die Leser entdecken neue Blogs und interessante Artikel zu dem jeweiligen Thema. <br />In den USA sind diese Blog Karnevalsfeiern bereits eine Tradition. Es gibt mehrere Webseiten, die zu den unterschiedlichsten Karnevalsfeiern verlinken, z.B. <a href="http://blogcarnival.com">Blog Carnival</a>, <a href="http://www.truthlaidbear.com/ubercarnival.php">Truth Laid Bear</a> oder <a href="http://www.conservativecat.com/Ferdy/Carnivals.htm">Conservative Cat</a>.<br /><br /><br /><b><font size="3">Blog Karneval zu den deutsch-amerikanischen Beziehungen </font></b></font></p><p><font size="2" face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" color="#000000">Unser Blog Karneval findet vierteljährlich statt. Die Gastgeber sind immer ein englischsprachiges und ein deutschsprachiges Blog. Es können Blog Artikel in beiden Sprachen eingereicht werden. Der deutsche Gastgeber stellt die besten englisch- und deutschsprachigen Artikel in seinem Blog in deutscher Sprache vor. Und der andere stellt die besten englisch- und deutschsprachigen Artikel in seinem Blog in englischer Sprache vor. Dadurch soll der transatlantische Dialog gefördert und die deutschen Blogs in den USA bekannter gemacht werden. Es gibt mehr Amerikaner, die des Deutschen mächtig sind, als man denkt.<br />Der Karneval zu den deutsch-amerikanischen Beziehungen wurde von der <a href="http://atlanticreview.org">Atlantic Review</a> von drei deutschen Fulbright Stipendiaten und <a href="http://www.gmroper.com/">GM's Corner</a> aus Texas gegründet. Die erste Karnevalfeier fand am 11. Dezember 2005 – dem Jahrestag der deutschen Kriegserklärung an die USA von 1941 – auf beiden Blogs in englischer Sprache Englisch statt: <a href="http://atlanticreview.org/archives/179-Carnival-of-German-American-Relations.html">Hier</a> und <a href="http://www.gmroper.com/archives/2005/12/carnival_of_ger.htm">Hier</a>. Es war ein voller Erfolg. Wir hatten sehr unterschiedliche und ausgezeichnete Beiträge und Tausende von Besuchern, weil viele Blogs zu uns verlinkten, u.a. der <a href="http://instapundit.com/archives/027467.php">Instapundit</a> mit seinen über 100.000 Lesern.<br />Der nächste Karneval findet am 11. März 2006 bei <a href="http://www.statler-and-waldorf.de/">Statler &amp; Waldorf</a> auf Deutsch und bei der </font><font size="2" face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" color="#000000"><a href="http://atlanticreview.org">Atlantic Review</a> </font><font size="2" face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" color="#000000">auf Englisch statt. (Das amerikanische Blog <a href="http://americanfuture.net/?cat=2">American Future</a> wird den Karneval vielleicht auch hosten und Einleitungen zu den Teilnehmerbeiträgen aus einer amerikanischen Sicht schreiben.) Die Frist für das Einreichen von Blog Artikel ist der 7.
